We believe in sustainable and ethical sourcing practices, ensuring that our products are made for the environment and the communities from which we source our ingredients.

Many of our ingredients are grown in our very own organic garden, ensuring the utmost level of care. Because we are so connected to where our ingredients come from, we work to preserve their natural integrity - using as close to their whole, raw, and unadulterated forms as possible. Our products are made with 100% natural botanicals and minerals and are free of animal testing, genetically modified ingredients, artificial colorants and fragrances, palm oil, parabens and phthalates, sulfates and detergents, and mystery ingredients.

Cacao

Roasted and fermented with all its cocoa butter still intact, we use every part of the Cacao. We use Cacao Nibs, Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Butter and Chocolate Mass. We work with an organic farm in the Izabal area of Guatemala to source our cacao and then have it pressed as needed to use fresh in our products

Browse the T&L Garden

80% of the botanicals in our products originate from our very own mountaintop garden, just steps outside our workshop. Surrounded by fresh air and incredible views of three volcanoes, our garden inspired our name; Tierra (earth in Spanish) & Lava. We want our name to honor the nurturing, dynamic and powerful sides of nature.

Our passion and joy to create comes from the natural paradise surrounding us. Guatemala is known as the “Land of Eternal Spring” because it has renowned fertile soil and is always blooming. Every day we wander our garden contemplating new plants to try as ingredients. We are inspired to grow what is hard to find organic. We also have serendipitous discoveries - such as plantain leaves have emollient properties perfect for anti-aging recipes with their high content of beta carotene and vitamin C.
